Ashtanga Yoga Learning to synchronise breath and movements during a codified sequence by Sri Pattabi Jois. In Ashtanga yoga you need to use a pranayama called Ujjayi which means : the victorious breathing ! Ujjayi is the first thing to control before doing Asanas. Then to continue the practice we need to lock 2 points during the whole sequence, which are called Bandhas. 1.Mulabhanda : contraction of the perineum area. 2.Uddiyana bandha : contraction at the navel level. 3.Jalandhara bandha : contraction of the throat (just during a number of practices). Vinyasa: Vinyasa means breathing in movement. The synchronization of the posture and the breathing are the collarbone of Ashtanga yoga.
